There Are a Lot Of Improvements in Shoriful’s Wrist Position And Seam Position- Taskin

Durdanto Dhaka pacer Taskin Ahmed on Friday said that Shoriful Islam is reaping the fruits of wrist positioning in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League, country’s lone franchise-based T20 tournament.

Taskin praised Shoriful for his outstanding bowling performance against Sylhet Strikers but he also expressed his disappointment for losing the low-scoring contest.

Shoriful wrecked the Sylhet top-order by taking three early wickets after Dhaka chose to field first in a gloomy condition in Sylhet and he later finished with 4-24 to restrict the hosts to 142-8 in 20 overs.

However, Dhaka batters once again came up with a poor batting display and despite Taksin’s cameo of unbeaten 27 off 11 balls, they fell 15 runs short of Sylhet’s total.

“Shoriful has been in great form recently. There are a lot of improvements in his wrist position and seam position…He is also getting a good swing in recent times,” Taskin said after the match.

“He bowled really well during the New Zealand series. We had a good bowling partnership today. But unfortunately, we couldn’t win,” he said, adding that he is hopeful that bowling in a pair in the Dhaka franchise will help them a lot when they play together once again in the national team.

“Of course, it will help. We, five to six pacers, have been playing together for the last few years. One always points out the other’s weaknesses. It developed our understanding as well.

“We have many games in the coming days and hopefully, it will also help there,” he concluded.
