Riders Beat Comilla in Exciting Finish 

Rangpur Riders beat Comilla Victorians by eight runs in an exciting contest to earn their third win in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

Comilla after restricting Rangpur to 165-5 lost opener Liton Das in the third ball of their innings before Mohammad Rizwan and Mahidul Islam Ankon added 59 runs for the second wicket.

Nabi removed Rizwan on 17 but Mahidul continued his good work and added more 53 runs with Tawhid Hridoy to take their score over the 100-run mark.

The partnership was broken by Hasan Mahmud after he dismissed Mahidul (63 off 55 balls) while Hridoy was run out on 39 in the last over.

Jaker Ali made an unbeaten four-ball 18 during the latter part of Comilla’s innings but it only reduced the margin of defeat as Rangpur restricted Comilla to 157-6 in 20 overs to move to third place in the BPL points table.

Earlier, Rangpur opted to bat first after winning the toss and posted 165-5 in their 20 overs after Babar Azam (37), Azmatuallah Omarzai (36 not out) and Fazle Mahmud (30) made decent contributions.

Mohammad Nabi made a seven-ball 13 while skipper Nurul Hasan Sohan scored an unbeaten 15 off six balls as Rangpur scored 68 runs in the last five overs to get a decent score on their board.
