Litton’s 85 Goes Unrewarded As Comilla Faces Defeat Against Sylhet In BPL 2024

Despite having been eliminated from the playoff contention in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) season, the Sylhet Strikers managed to clinch a 12-run victory against the Comilla Victorians at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.

Litton Das delivered an impressive 85 runs for Comilla, marking a personal best in T20s, but it proved insufficient to evade defeat.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, the Strikers compiled a competitive total of 177/5. Benny Howell’s unbeaten 62 off just 31 deliveries boosted their score in the latter part of the innings. Kennar Lewis also contributed significantly with a solid 38 runs.

Sunil Narine stood out among the Victorians’ bowlers, claiming two wickets, while Rishad Hossain also secured a pair.

In response, the Comilla Victorians encountered early setbacks, losing both opener Imrul Kayes and Towhid Hridoy cheaply. Despite Litton Das’s resilient 85, Tanzim Hasan Sakib’s three-wicket haul (3/33) disrupted their chase.

Despite a late effort from Andre Russell (23), the Victorians fell short of the target, finishing at 165/6.

Although Comilla has already secured a playoff berth, this defeat may impede their chances of topping the points table in the league phase.
