I Am Still Not At My Best- Taskin

Durdanto Dhaka’s pace bowler Taskin Ahmed said on Friday that he is yet to get back his full rhythm following his injury.

Taskin returned to competitive cricket through the Bangladesh Premier League T20 tournament after missing the New Zealand home series and the tour of New Zealand following their assignment at home.

“In T20 cricket it is tough to perfectly execute every ball. Sometimes the batters hit well-executed deliveries for a 6.The batters have a very good intent. But we are trying to maintain our processes and do our work properly. I was in rehab after the World Cup .Thanks to the Almighty my rhythm is getting better than before but I am still not at the best rhythm but it is improving,” Taskin, who looked to be pale shadow of his past in the ongoing competition, told reporters at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Friday.

“Because I am working hard improvement is bound to happen,” he said adding that he is also trying to improve his batting.

“I have said many times before that I want to be a good tail-ender and I had been practicing. I tried to keep my base strong and connect according to the merit of the delivery,” he said.

Sylhet Strikers ended their five-match losing streak after they beat Durdanto Dhaka by 15 runs during their sixth match of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Sylhet’s newly-appointed skipper Mohammad Mithun struck a brilliant 59 off 46 balls after his side was left struggling at 13-3 with Shoriful Islam taking all three wickets at the top while Ariful Islam struck a blazing nine-ball 21 in the later part of their innings to guide the hosts to 142-8 in their 20 overs.

Dhaka, in reply, collected 13 runs in the opening over off Ariful but Sylhet pacer Richard Ngarava then removed both the openers Saim Ayub (13) and Mohammad Naim (two) cheaply to bring his side back in the contest.
