We Are Not Machines – Rizwan
Comilla Victorians Pakistani recruit Mohammad Rizwan said on Monday that they are not scoring runs consistently in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League, country’s lone franchise-based T20 tournament, as they are not machines.
In the last season of BPL both of them played a vital role to guide Victorians to their second successive trophy but remained a pale shadow of their past in the ongoing season.
Their highest partnership is 26 in four matches they opened so far and none of them scored a half century so far in the tournament.
Rizwan played in four games of the five matches Victorians played so far in the tournament averaging 21.33 and a strike rate of 85.33.
Liton played five games so far in the tournament making 37 runs at an average of 7. 40 and a strike rate of 75.41.
“If you ask my performance not like that I want and also not as people expect, I am not a machine. I am trying my best to do it for my team. I am doing hard work. I am happy with that because of the result I want. And I wait for the Allahpak to do a good result,” Rizwan told reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Monday.
“Look, brother, earlier the guy asked me, Last year you performed well, but why not this year? We are not machines; we are human beings. Liton Das is still doing hard work to get that momentum. Basically, Liton Das is a sound player. If you look at his outs, he was unlucky. Hopefully he will perform in the next match, Insha’Allah,” he said.
