Tamim not ruling out political career

Bangladesh leading batsman Tamim Iqbal is not ruling out possibility of joining politics in the coming days.

Tamim national team mate Mashrafee bin Mortaza and Shakib al Hasan are currently member of the parliament, courtesy winning the national election on January 9.

“This is a very risky thing to say( not doing politics) like if I say no and after 10 years I am doing it( politics) and at that point of time you will say that I have said no( to politics)..So you cannot say no to anything but at this point I don’t have any desire ( to do politics),” Tamim told reporters on Wednesday adding that he is yet to meet Mashrafee and Shakib.

“I haven’t met anyone of them and when we meet certainly we will talk and see what happens at that point,” he said adding that if he is destined to be Bangladesh Cricket Board president in that case he will have it but he is not losing his sleep over it.   

“I am not for these things but where future will take you don’t know and if Allah keeps anything in my destiny it will happen automatically but I cannot take it by asking for it or forcing it,” said Tamim adding that he still have some rustiness in his batting considering he is returning to cricket after a while.  

“It is obvious that there will be some rustiness to be honest did not practice for last three months. I am batting for two to two and a half weeks and improving day by day,” he said adding that he is expecting everyone to know regarding his international future during the BPL. have 

“You will come to know about it soon and hopefully you will know about it during the BPL,” he said.
