Babar Clears Air About Shakib’s Batting Position
Rangpur Riders inform batsman Babar Azam said that Shakib al Hasan will play his part with the bat in the coming days during the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League, country’s lone franchise-based T20 league while added that he did not bat against Durdanto Dhaka as the team did not require it.
Shakib, who is struggling with his eyes, is looking desperate to get back into groove as he decided to come to the field on Sunday (January 28) and have a long session just to make sure he is able to deliver with the bat when it matters when some of his team mates decided to take a rest.
During their last game against Durdanto Dhaka Shakib did not come to bat despite batting for hours before the game.
The move looked quite surprising Riders lost eight wickets to post183 runs in the board in their allotted 20 overs after Dhaka sent them to bat first.
Many felt that Shakib eye problem prevented the team management to send him in the middle, though Babar begs to differ.
“Nah I don’t think so (he did not came to bat due to eye problem),” Babar said following the game.
“Today before the match they had a practice session and he came early and had one or two hours batting session,” he said.
“I think today there was no opportunities we are looking forward next matches play Shakib (and he will deliver) with good innings,” he added.
