Who Told You? Shakib Ask Journo On His Skipping SL Series
Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan said on Friday that he is yet to plan anything on the upcoming home series against Sri Lanka as he is totally concentrating on the Bangladesh Premier League T20 tournament at the moment.
There is a speculation going around in the cricketing circle that Shakib had requested Bangladesh Cricket Board not to consider him for the home series against Sri Lanka as he is going through eye problem, though the all-rounder begs to differ.
“Who told you?” Shakib asked when his attention was drawn regarding the speculation during a private program on Friday.
“Let rumours be rumours or you find out who said it and ask him that. Did I say it? Did I ask if I wanted to or didn’t want to( play against Sri Lanka). I think you should ask the person from whom you learned it from (regarding my decision on the Sri Lanka home series),” he said.
“No plans regarding the Sri Lanka series yet and focusing on BPL and how I can contribute to the team (Rangpur Riders,” he said adding that he is hoping that Riders late inclusion Mominul Haque will add value to the team.
“Firstly I am neither the coach nor the captain so they will be the ones who can say about the team’s plans. When an experienced cricketer like Mominul comes to the side, I feel his performances will have great value to the team,” he said.
“I am sure the plan was there from the coach and the captain which is why he was included. Since he was available he was taken onboard and I am sure he will contribute,” he added.
