USA Announced as Host for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Across Three Major Cities

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has finalized Dallas, Miami, and New York as the venues for the highly anticipated ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, marking the USA’s debut as hosts for the prestigious event.
The decision to choose Grand Prairie in Dallas, Broward County in Florida, and Nassau County in New York as the event venues followed a rigorous evaluation process among several options available. Notably, this marks the first occasion that the T20 World Cup will grace American soil.
To enhance the facilities for this significant sporting extravaganza, modular stadium solutions will be employed. Plans include constructing a 34,000-seat modular stadium in Eisenhower Park, Nassau County, New York, contingent upon the issuance of the necessary permit next month.
Expansion through modular stadium solutions will also augment Grand Prairie and Broward County, allowing for increased seating capacities, expanded media coverage, and enhanced premium hospitality areas, pending final agreements.
ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice expressed immense satisfaction in unveiling the host venues for the forthcoming T20 World Cup, highlighting the significance of the USA as a key market for cricket.
“The selection of the three USA venues marks a pivotal moment for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, featuring 20 teams vying for the prestigious trophy. This showcases our strategic focus on an important market, presenting a fantastic opportunity to showcase the event in the world’s largest sports market.”
Allardice underscored the increasing resonance of cricket and its potential to unite diverse communities within the USA, citing the enthusiasm and reception received from potential hosts.
“We explored numerous venue options, noting the immense interest and enthusiasm from potential hosts. This reaffirms the growing appreciation for cricket’s vast fanbase and its unifying power across diverse communities.”
The deployment of modular stadium technology aims to bring top-tier cricket to a previously uncharted global event destination, aiming to captivate USA cricket enthusiasts by presenting the sport’s elite on their home turf.
Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman expressed eagerness about the partnership with the ICC for hosting the T20 World Cup in 2024.
“Nassau County eagerly looks forward to collaborating with the ICC in hosting the Men’s T20 World Cup, a globally renowned sporting spectacle. Welcoming fans from across the globe to Eisenhower Park, this event, with its extensive fan base, promises to be a tremendous success.”
Blakeman emphasized the county’s history of hosting prominent global events and expressed anticipation in uniting diverse communities to witness world-class cricket on their doorstep.
The announcement also identified potential venues for pre-event matches and training, including George Mason University in Washington, home to the Major League Cricket (MLC) team Washington Freedom.
