Taskin dream of leading Tigers one day

Bangladesh pace bowler Taskin Ahmed insisted that he is dreaming of leading Tigers someday.

Durdanto Dhaka franchise appointed Mossadek Hossain as their captain while named Taskin as his deputy.

“Yes, of course (dream of leading national team),” Taskin told reporters ahead of tournament on Thursday.

“Why not, every player has a dream. Everything will happen step by step,” he said

“Our team is very young. Sujon Sir is there, Mosaddek is there including me, there are many other experienced cricketers,” he said adding that foreign players availability is a concern for every team at present.

“Maybe subject to availability of many foreign cricketers is a matter of concern some will arrive late, some may not be available on time,”

Taskin expects to form an organized team and develop team collaboration and vows to share his expertise with the team.

“If we can organize the existing team and play with unity, it will be great. I will always try to share my own experiences with the team. So that our team can benefit,” he said.

Taskin, who Tsuffered a tear in his shoulder during the World Cup, which forced him to miss a couple of matches in the global event, played in India last year.

Following the tournament, Taskin was sent to a rehabilitation program to regain full fitness and start competitive cricket again and as a result he missed the two-match Test series at home against New Zealand and white-ball return tour that followed soon after, is now eyeing to make a comeback in the BPL.

“If I can effectively use the power that I have, the end of the day will count how well I performed. By keeping the basics right and sharpening further, my performance will be more effective for the team,” he added.
