Shakib’s Singapore Sojourn Raises Eyebrows – BPL Future Hangs in Balance Amidst Critical Eye Treatment

Shakib Al Hasan, the renowned Bangladesh cricketer playing for Rangpur Riders in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), is set to travel to Singapore on Sunday for a medical evaluation regarding ongoing issues with his eyes.

Prior to the start of the BPL on Friday, Shakib returned from the UK, where he sought medical advice for his eyes. Despite this, it seems that the cricketer is still experiencing discomfort in his eyes.

Jalal Yunus, the Cricket Operations Chairman of BCB, verified that Shakib is traveling to Singapore to consult with a doctor.

Shakib confirmed on Saturday that he will be traveling to Singapore tomorrow. The possibility of his continued participation in the BPL hinges on the recommendations of the doctors, and he will adhere to their guidance. Shakib’s absence will be felt in the BPL.

Shakib has been dealing with eye problems since the World Cup in India late last year. In various media discussions, he has shared the challenges he encountered in delivering optimal performances due to issues with his eyes.

However, in spite of this, Shakib participated in the match for the Riders on Saturday and managed to secure two wickets against Fortune Barisal.

Nurul Hasan Shohan expressed a strong appreciation for Shakib, emphasizing the high regard our team holds for him.

During a press briefing on Saturday, the captain of Shakib in the BPL mentioned, “I think he has been facing issues with his eyes in recent days. The extent of his condition will be assessed by the doctors.”
