Shakib, Tamim To Sit With WC Assessment Committee On January 29

Bangladesh Cricket Board appointed World Cup assessment committee will sit with current Bangladesh skipper Shakib al Hasan and former national skipper Tamim Iqbal at Sylhet on January 29.
A member of the assessment committee confirmed the development to Kriknews adding that they are expecting to complete their report and submit it to the board as soon as possible so that it can be placed before the forthcoming board meeting, scheduled in the first week of February.
“We will sit with them Shakib and Tamim) in Sylhet and later we will submit it to the board,” a member of the assessment panel told Kriknews.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board’s newly formed three-member special committee began their activities on Sunday to find out the reason behind the team’s dismal performance in the recently concluded ICC World Cup.
Bangladesh has their worst World Cup campaign since 2003 as they could win only two out of their nine league matches and finished eighth in the 10-team tournament in India. Bangladesh won three matches in each of the four World Cups, in 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019.
The board had formed the three-member panel, constituted by BCB directors Enayet Hossain Siraj (convenor), Mahbubul Anam (member) and Akram Khan (member), on November 29.
Earlier, Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusingha, skipper Shakib al Hasan and team director Khaled Mahmud had presented their assessment report of the World Cup.
