Shakib Available For Us In The BPL Opener – Rangpur Riders

Bangladesh Premier League franchise Rangpur Riders said on Friday that Shakib al Hasan is available for their opening game against Fortune Barishal, scheduled at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on January 20.

Shakib arrived at the Riders practice session ahead of their opening game that will mark the return of Riders in the lone franchise-based T20 tournament after a gap following his England trip to have a checkup as his eye problem recurred recently.

Shakib, who arrived in a black car, did not take long to get into his groove as he bowled couple of overs in the nets while also spent time doing range hitting.

Shakib, who will feature for Riders during the forthcoming BPL, country’s lone franchise-based T20 tournament, was seen batting in the nets wearing power spectacles but that was not the case on Friday as he   bowled wearing sports glass while batted without wearing any power spectacles at home of cricket.

“It is good news for us that Shakib is back and he is available for tomorrow’s match,” Rangpur Riders’ Executive Director Shanian Taneem told reporters at Bashundhara Sports Complex on Friday.

It was earlier reported that Shakib had an eye problem during the World Cup in India and he  was taken to an eye specialist twice during the World Cup in India while later he also went and seen an eye doctor in the USA. Shakib was forced to see an eye specialist twice after the eye problem recurred in Dhaka and had getting treatment and later he went to London for second opinion.
