Rangpur Secures Spot In BPL 2024 Playoffs; Khulna Resumes Winning Momentum

In Friday’s Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) matches in Chattogram, both the Rangpur Riders and Khulna Tigers emerged triumphant. Rangpur’s win solidified their place in the playoffs, confirming their status as strong contenders in the tournament. Meanwhile, Khulna’s victory marked a crucial turnaround after enduring a five-match losing streak, revitalising their campaign. On the other hand, Durdanto Dhaka’s defeat extended their poor form, registering their tenth loss in eleven matches, setting a record for the longest losing streak in BPL history.

Rangpur Riders exhibited their dominance with an 18-run victory over the Chattogram Challengers. Setting a challenging target of 187/8 while batting first, Rangpur was propelled by Shakib Al Hasan’s explosive 62 and Mahedi Hasan’s valuable contribution. Dwaine Pretorius then shone with the ball, claiming 3/14 to restrict the Challengers’ chase. Despite a late surge from Romario Shepherd, Rangpur’s total proved too much to overcome, securing them a crucial win.

Meanwhile, the Khulna Tigers secured a comfortable 5-wicket victory over Durdanto Dhaka in a low-scoring encounter.
