You gotta hold your breath as IPL, one of the most popular franchise cricket tournaments among the cricket-playing nations, has reached the playoff round! At this point of IPL, the fans are anticipating some dramatic fights among the tournament toppers.

As we have seen in previous tournaments, playoff matches in IPL reward the cricket fans with some amazing cricketing moments and the thrills of the extreme contest reach its peak, leaving the fans spell bound with some magical moments.

1. Performance Analysis of KKR

The player selection of KKR must be appreciated as the cricketers are performing consistently throughout the tournament so far, thanks to the team management. During the whole season, every individual played very well which helped them finish the group stage as a topper with the most points and highest NRR, the first time in IPL history! They have shown brilliance with the close margin win against SRH in their beginning game and defending a low total with a team like CSK.

Though they have experimented with their player well enough, a concern that the management cannot ignore is that the last two matches of them were washed out by rain. Thus, the team has missed the opportunity to test the players on specific conditions. However, this couldn’t displace them from the first position of the point table!

2. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

Unlike KKR, SRH had to depend on the results of others at one stage. However, they will be up against the best team in the playoffs on 21^st May at Narendra Modi Stadium. During the initial stages, SRH had to face some complications but the dedicated team took their performance to another level. Their hard-hitting batting lineup is always an advantage for them.

The fearless hard hitter Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head are open for the team. So, this fierce duo always carries the team. They have clean hitters like Rahul Tripathi in the middle order. Also, Nicholas Pooran supports the team with his power-hitting.

SRH’s bowling lineup is also impressive with the mix of experienced and young talents. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the swing specialist is still the key with the new bowl. The fans are now waiting to watch the sizzling attacks with KKR in the first playoff match.

3. Rajasthan Royals (RR)

Starting the tournament with 4 consecutive wins against LSG, DC, MI, and RCB; team RR promised an amazing tournament that lost the rhythm in the middle. Though they have successfully made it to the playoffs, losing consistency in the middle of the tournament is still a matter of concern.

They have a combo squad with a mix of experienced and energetic youngsters. Joss Buttler is the one who held the team firmly on the batting side. His ability to make runs at a rapid pace is always an advantage for the team. In the middle order, they do have Sanju Samson as a reliable man for stability and power-hitting.

4. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)

It’s hard to believe that the team with players like Virat Kohli is still unable to win a single IPL title out of its 17 editions! But the discussion is centered on their comeback after losing 7 out of the first 8 matches and obviously the last more than required 18-run win against CSK.  

With the batting brilliance of Virat Kohli and Du Plessis, the South African star brought promising opening in most of the matches from the beginning of the tournament yet they failed to make it to the end for several matches in the early stage.
