I Tried To Stay Till The End: Azmatullah
Rangpur Riders Afghan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai said that his plan was to stay (on wicket) till the end while his team were batting in their innings against Comilla Victorians during their match in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024 on Tuesday.
“The wicket was too slow and we were aiming to get 150. Because the ball was coming very slow and Nabi and I tried to stay till the end and thankfully I did that,” said Azmatullah after the match.
Rangpur climbed to the third position of the seven-team BPL after securing their third win against defending champions Comilla by 8-run at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on this day.
Azmatullah smashed an unbeaten 36 runs off 20 balls to help his side post a competitive total 165-5 before in 20 overs and later he claimed 2-31 to restrict Comilla to 157-6 within the stipulated 20 overs.
“I am happy (to deliver) because they are giving me a chance and believing in me. I always try to give my best for Rangpur Riders,” the Afghan all-rounder further added.
