However, given their current position, they’ll likely face a top team from the remaining playoff candidates. Yet, the match between CSK and RCB is an important one for SRH too as it will help decide their opposition. Let’s see who are going to face them in playoffs under such uncertainty!

What Went Bad in the Last 4 Years for Sunrisers Hyderabad

When the fans are so happy for SRH, the question is what went wrong in the last 4 seasons? It’s a surprise that the last time they played in the playoffs was in 2020! They didn’t just fail to reach playoffs in this period, they also showed miserable performance as a team. While finishing as the 8th team in 2022, they were at the bottom of the table in both 2021 and 2023.

SRH

One of the prime concerns was their frequent change in top-order batting. The departure of David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan also caused trouble for them. Besides, SRH previously had much depth in the bowling department which was hindered by the quit of Rashid Khan. Besides, the injury problem of some bowlers during the tournament was unfortunate for them. Apart from these changes, they faced difficulties in the change of captaincies. This includes the sudden change of Kane Williamson, David Warner, and Bhuvneshwar.

The changes in different departments along with the inconsistency in performances mainly caused the damage. Besides these, their choice of players in the IPL Auction is also questioned as many high-price players could not perform as expected.

Conclusion

Whatever happened in the last four years is not to focus on at present. Even this is not time for Sunrisers to think about who are going to be their opponent as well as that’s also not in their hand like their past. SRH now needs to sort out its areas of improvement. They still have one game in hand where they conduct some experiments too. After confirming their ticket for playoffs, let’s see whether they can make it to the final and win the title!
