Five Nations Men’s Basketball Championship: Nepal Set to Clash with Bangladesh Today

KATHMANDU: Nepal gears up to face Bangladesh in the ongoing Five Nations Men’s Basketball Championship hosted by the Maldives Basketball Association.
The highly anticipated match is scheduled to commence at 9.30 pm Nepali time.
As Nepal enters its third game, the team holds a record of one win and one loss. Meanwhile, Bangladesh, also playing their third match, maintains an unblemished record with victories in both previous encounters.
Nepal secured a win against Bhutan in their initial match and triumphed over Pakistan in the second encounter. Conversely, Bangladesh emerged victorious against both Maldives and Bhutan in their matches.
The Nepali team’s next challenge will be against the host nation, Maldives, in their concluding league match scheduled for Sunday.
Five South Asian countries, including Nepal, are partaking in the tournament, slated to run until June 22.
Under the round-robin league format, Nepal, alongside Maldives, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Pakistan, will engage in fierce competition. The top four teams will progress to the semi-finals, where the winners will battle it out in the championship final.
The Nepal team comprises coaches Bipin Kapali and Nripesh Shrestha, with Sushil Gurung serving as the manager throughout the tournament.
