Dhaka Eyeing To End Khulna’s Dream Run

Durdanto Dhaka will be eyeing to end Khulna’s unbeaten run in the ongoing tournament when they face the table-toppers at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on January 29.

Khulna have won all their three games in the tournament respectively against Chattogram, Fortune Barishal and Rangpur and they are looking to be the most balanced side in the ongoing meet so far with the kind of local and foreign players they have.

“I think our team is much more balanced now with the arrival of Gulbadin Naib considering he is an all-rounder and so it will help in having a good balance. Earlier I used to play with six batsman but now I can add one more batsman,” Durdanto’s head coach Khaled Mahmud told Kriknews on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Dhaka, who started their campaign with a win against Comilla, struggled in their next two games against Chattogram and Rangpur and they are currently placed sixth in the seven-team points table.

Dhaka heaved a sigh of great relief after their star pacer Taskin Ahmed, who bowled only two overs and didn’t also bat due to body stiffness during their previous game against Rangpur on Saturday, completed a gym session at the match venue on Sunday and looked fit to feature in today’s contest.

Meanwhile, Dhaka’s newly-recruit Afghanistan all-rounder Gulbadin Naib also trained with the squad for the first time since his joining the side.
