BPL 2024: Chattogram Challengers Secure Victory Over Barishal Despite Their Struggles, with Avishka’s Notable Performance.

In an exhilarating match in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Avishka Fernando of Chattogram Challengers delivered an outstanding innings, registering an unbeaten 91 runs from 50 balls against Fortune Barishal in Sylhet on Saturday.

Avishka’s exceptional performance led Chattogram Challengers to an imposing total, proving too formidable for Barishal, who ultimately suffered a 10-run defeat in the match.

The Barishal bowlers faced challenges in curbing Avishka’s aggressive play, with Curtis Campher contributing to the onslaught by scoring a rapid 29 runs off 9 balls. 

In retaliation, Barishal displayed determined efforts, highlighted by Ahmed Shehzad’s aggressive 39 runs off 17 balls and Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s explosive 35 runs off 16, which kept the competition intense.

Nevertheless, Curtis Campher’s outstanding bowling performance, securing four crucial wickets, shifted the balance in favor of Chattogram Challengers.

Mahmudullah Riyad, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Tamim Iqbal, who are pivotal to the Barishal batting lineup, faced a lackluster performance in this match. Tamim contributed a slow 33, Mushfiqur posted 23, and Mahmudulla managed only 3 runs.

Barishal’s recent loss signifies their third consecutive defeat in four matches played, whereas the Challengers clinched their third victory in an equal number of matches.
