Barishal, Khulna Eyeing Final Spot In BPL’s Last Four
Fortune Barishal and Khulna Tigers will be eyeing to seal the final playoff spot of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League as they take on Comilla Victorians and Sylhet Strikers on the last match day of the BPL league phase at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today.
After a thrilling Chattogram phase where three of the four playoff teams have been confirmed: Rangpur Riders, Chattogram Challengers, and Cumilla Victorians. Fortune Barishal holds a comfortable position to secure the final playoff spot.
Barishal are in a much better position than Khulna for the playoff qualification as they have 12 points from 11 games and are currently in fourth position in the seven-team points table.
Khulna have 10 points from 11 games and they need not only to beat Sylhet by a big margin in their last league match but also a crushing Barishal defeat to Comilla in order to see them through for the next stage.
Chattogram ensured the last-four finish during their last league game when they beat Khulna at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Tuesday. Chattogram have 14 points from their 12 league matches.
Barishal or Khulna – whoever qualifies for the playoff, will face Chattogram in the eliminator of the tournament, scheduled in Mirpur on 26 February.
The BPL’s final phase promises outstanding cricket as the top four teams go head-to-head for the championship title.
